card maybe i would get an ati. But i got a geforce4 ti4600 and i'll have
that until the gf6 line comes out which by then i'm hoping will do good.
Because i really hate ati as a company and unlike some i buy based on a
company i like rather then a better product. *shrugs* I mean if its in
the ballpark. I stayed with netscape for awhile back in the day becuase
of how much i disliked IE but after awhile nutscrape was not even in the
ballpark and so i had to jump ship. But i still think Nvidia is most
certainly still in the ballpark.

To be honest, it comes down to performance and Nvidia as a company have
not
recently enamoured themselves to me with their underhand test results
tuning.
ATI currently lead the pack in terms of price performance and this is
what
it comes down to in the end. I want to buy a card that will have a
product
life of at least 3-4 years.

I will continue to buy the best nvidia has to offer because of brand
loyalty. I like the product they put out and am not a bandwagoner who
just gives up on someone i really enjoy. I like thier corporation and
their company policies and how they deal with customers since i wrote
them a letter once and i was really suprised with the response. Max
payne 2 with my geforce4 ti4600 was awesome i have no complaints about
the game play or graphics at all.
*Shrugs* Similar to the Intel/Amd stuff, people stick with who they
like
and are familier with. Both companies make good products and its just
a
matter of personal choice i suppose. But some people like ATi *Shrugs*
i
might get an ati card one day just to have a tv tuner card ;)

Apparently..they still suck ;-)
These new cards still don't provide a good reason to buy this crop of
Nvidia cards over the ATIs.
In Max Payne2...another Direct X 9 game (the ones the Nvidia DX9 cards
have all the trouble with *chuckle*)..the new ATI 9800XT more than
doubles the framerate of the latest Nvidia offerings.
This from a comparison based on HALO...another DX9 game:
"With framerate dips below 30FPS constantly and into the teens, the
GeForceFX 5950Ultra is simply not going to provide the same level of
gaming experience as the ATI Radeon 9800XT will provide."
As past reviewers have said, new drivers and increased clock speed
won't
help Nvidia cards, or their owners. Nvidia needs to go back to silicon
and re-engineer their hardware to work the way DX9 expects a card to
work.
I don't see why anyone with a little bit of knowledge would buy an
Nvidia card now if they want to run the latest DX9 software.

Links to benchmarks on the FX 5700U and 5950U, a mix of the good and
the
bad.
