I thought the Dead let you record the shows so that you could listen to
them later since if you did it right, you would not remember being at
the concert in the first place <g>

The Grateful Dead always let people record their shows. You could order
special tickets called "taper tickets" and they would let you setup your
recording equipment right behind the sound board. I have hours and hours
of shows.
They said they didn't care what people did with their music when they
were done playing it. And if any of you have been to a dead show, then
you know they never play a song the same way twice! ~~ Steph (did i just
