machine (16 months, no unscheduled downtime!) I simply wiped the old
Linux partition out and left LILO on - it does a 0-second load of XP.
Anyway, the boot sector pretty much rolled over and died last night -
fortunately, the hard drives are all fine, just the boot sector.
Well, when I get home tonight, I'm going to run a "fdisk /mbr" followed
by "fixboot c:" from the recovery console to get rid of LILO. I just
wanted to see if anyone had had any unforseen difficulties overwriting
LILO with the MS bootloader that I should keep an eye out for.
Oh, and I should mention the boot loader crapped out at the exact time I
was sitting down for the specific purpose of offloading data to CD-R's
before wiping everything (low-level) and reinstalling the OS. Doesn't
it always happen that way? Sigh.
