P.G.& E. serves Northern California (north of the Tehachapi Mountains) - roughly Eureka to Bakersfield. About 70,000 sq mi, 13 million people. Majority of the area of CA but not of the population - Southern California Edison serves the larger LA area (was going to say "greater LA" but that would be an oxymoron!). There's a different company for San Diego.
