I am sure I can find something better that that.
Also I could have a regular machine at that cost
and purchase some software to monitor it. That
would equal in price after the first one or two years.

e-fax?
doesn't require a faxmodem, just an e-mail account, can send to a fax
machine or e-mail, comes straight to your inbox.
