I think we would all prefer to be working for $75/hr. But the problem with the $75/hour work, is you have to get it.

Has anybody ever compiled a salary survey fulltime and contract for this list?

  $75hr vs $14 ... vs $0

I think 'better' in this case doesn't mean 'back to full health', but rather better in comparison to where it's been.  I know too many (good) programmers who are (still) out of work.

On this list alone I think we've been seeing more and more job postings coming in...more people getting interviews, and more people getting jobs.

Doesn't mean the economy (the IT sector, specifically) is "healed".  But it *is* better than it was before, I think.

    you sure?
i went on a second interview last night at 8pm to a ware house alone...
i will except any thing they say on Monday, but i don't consider it a better
    economy.

    75/hour vs. 14....

I have to admit it, the economy really is better.  It's only been two days
on the job hunt and I've already got an interview scheduled at one company
and my resume forwarded to upper level managemnt at another company.

The last time I was on the job hunt (summer 2001) I spent three months out
of work and the one job (except the current job) that got to the negotiation
point offered me peanuts to move to a podunk town in the middle of Texas.
