I know that is true as well, but according to the nurses the caps also help
keep people from asking what's wrong with the kid's head.

And I think my post was worded a little poorly.  I said "On the whole though
I don't think anyone HAS to have children.  It is an amazing experience and
an awesome responsibility.  Some people aren't up to the challenge and
should not continue their gene pool."

Let me rephrase before I get my head bitten off and handed to me on a
platinum platter.

I don't think that anyone has to have children.  It is an awesome
responsibility.  Some people do not want to put themselves in that situation
where they have to deal with all of the hassles and problems of raising and
dealing with children.  Others should not be allowed to continue the gene
pool.

I wasn't trying to infer that anyone that decides not to have children is
not up to the challenge, nor was I trying to infer that they should not
continue their blood line.

Actually my wife is a Dr. and she says the reason for the bonnet is to keep
body heat in as we loose a majority of our body heat through our heads.

... I'll second Jim's offense to that.  I have the most beautiful child in
the world... in my eyes at least.

Life is not a pretty thing and right after birth neither are babies.
Naturally born children typically have a cone head for the first few days of
their lives (hence the reason many babies wear those nice knitted bonnets).

On the whole though I don't think anyone HAS to have children.  It is an
amazing experience and an awesome responsibility.  Some people aren't up to
the challenge and should not continue their gene pool.

Though I must say that it puts a whole new spin on the concept of Natural
Selection.
