Bakshi is also apparently the inspiration for the comic book store
guy in the Simpsons.

My disillusionment with Bakshi really started when I found out he was
the producer of that old thoroughly horrible  Spiderman cartoon. It
was worse than even the stuff seen on Saturday morning cartoons.
