But then i found aguy on the phoen who apparently thought different he
gave me 2 months free because the last lady treated me like shit because
my credit was less then stellar even though i had not had any problems
paying my sprint bill so he was awesome. It really changed my midn about
leaving sprint Right away. But i think the majority of sprint people are
dickheads. THey are working on it, apparently. And also a couple friends
in the telecomm industry are saying to not take a phone # to another
place yet that its too hard to get it done without haivng some type of
error yet. Because the systems don't talk its all a giant mess waiting
to happen. He was telling me to wait another 6-12 months before
considering a move if i wanted a hassleless switchover

Absolutely true about Sprint's customer service. My boss and his family
all have one, I am expected to work with their phones from time to time.
I spent over an hour waiting for tech support last week and finally gave
up. My fiancee had the same problem two weeks ago.
You can also Google 'Sprint Customer Support' and see all kinds of
peoples' rants about Sprint.

Paul,
If you can wait until the new year, the telecom guy here says that
there will probably be VERY aggressive selling going on. The cell
companies REALLY need to compete now that numbers are portable, they
just are not going to do it until after the holidays (they figure that
people giving gifts are going to buy regardless). He tells me that the
deals should be quite good.
As far as companies, he recommends Verizon or AT&T Wireless. Avoid
Sprint like the plague, their corporate culture is that time spent on
customer service is wasted. They simply DO NOT CARE about their
customers.
Verizon:
Pro - Largest network, good service
Con - Tend to charge for added features that others include (call
waitiing, forwarding, etc) Lots of nickel and dime
AT&T Wireless:
Pro - Best Customer Service in industry (according to my guy here),
good network (about equal to Sprint PCS, but be careful in rural areas)
Con - Some connection issues in outlying areas. May be slightly more
expensive.
Hope this helps...
