I've played with it very briefly on a virtual PC (which is the only way to
test new OSs as far as I'm concerned).


It's not bad, but definitely not "windows" - I really don't think that it's
quite ready as a Windows replacement however.  It still lacks polish and
ease of use (although it is much better in that regard than any other Linux
distribution I've seen).  Also it's building up a reputation for being
"windows compatible" that just plain isn't true. very little Windows
software actually works on it (and what does is emulated - and not always
well).


If you can use a virtual PC or have an old PC to try it out on, give it a
go.  Just don't expect magic.
