ah, see, I can *get* a birth certificate, it's getting it in less than six months that is the trick at this point. In contrast -- it seems the Mexicans want the actual birth certificate with a raised seal, and the photocopies I have been using for the kids for years just won't do. SO I call the office in Baltimore. They will take the request over the phone and send it second day delivery for a $7 fee. No fuss no muss no explaining that Mexican bus lines don't take reservations....
