I was just looking for someone that can recommend a registered agent
service (typical costs $120-135 a year)
There's several online, and I'm not using a lawyer, and I'm not using a
friend ... it's a simple LLC
There's paperwork to fill out transferring/naming the registered agent
which we already file every year ... it's just my business partner has
been acting as the registered agent and he can't any longer as he is
withdrawing from the company.
I wanted to go with the Community's choice because I value people's
opinions here :D
Otherwise, it's eenie meenie miney mo ...

manager, partner, etc. Otherwise the choice of a registered agent could
include an accountant or lawyer, and the terms under which this occurs
varies from state to state. You may need to establish the type of
relationship between the agent and the company within your articles of
incorporation in some states (i.e. that it is acceptable to use legal
counsel as an agent).
People have been know to use relatives as their agents, but this
practice is strongly advised against if for no other reason than because
that person has no fiduciary interest at stake with the company.
Remember, I know some big words, but you are always better served by
speaking with an attorney.
