I don't think it was watching 'you'.


Rather it was watching an aggregate of people and seeing how long they
watched certain aspects of the show.


I'm sure if Replay TV wanted to they could tell what their users were
doing as well.


Maybe it's more chilling that they don't say anything about it in their
service agreement?


of course the real threat to privacy is the Bush administrations attempt
to do 'data mining' which, under different titles,is to pull data from
everywhere to build a profile on the citizens of the United States for
Terrorist Profiling.

When I was shopping, Tivo's OS seemed more "intrusive" -
it monitors what you watch, so it can "suggest" programs
you will like.

Seemed to me like an invasion of privacy.
And proved out when Tivo exec commented on the JJ scene -
he commented on how many Tivo owners replayed the clip.
That means Big Brother Is Watching You !!

ReplayTV lets YOU make up "channels" by searching for
title, actor, director, etc., but AFAIK it doesn't "watch" you.
