and if you get them heated nice and hot in the pan and slightly golden then
transfer to a bowel and pour a tablespoon of tamari over them and stir it
makes them nice and salty and flavourful.
BUT, I prefer pumpkin seeds, and they are often recommended as a men's health
thing for the minerals they contain. They seem to have a better shelf life
than sunflower seeds (which are often stale/rancid). I like them raw but
most prefer them toasted - they really are quite nice. They don't need
tamari on them but some people prefer that.
Also a middle-eastern thing is roasted chick peas with raisins - green or
brown. Not too many raisins though or you will get very windy!
My favourite generally though is soya lattes. Protein and stimulants
together and tastes good too!
The general concept is to switch protein for the sugary or carb things.
Works pretty well.
The other good thing is some fruit/veg and the two best are carrots and
apples in my opinion. Lots of fiber, and sweet and refereshing.
Keep the water coming in too.
Final suggestion: Mint tea - get a good brand like Celestial Seasonings. I
think you'll be impressed how it helps clear the mind and mood. It also
helps clear the liver.

While programming I sometimes like to snack. Till now, I've used cereals as
my snack food. Honey combs, corn puffs, etc. Would there be something that's
'better' as a filling energy food while thinking? Energy boosts can come
from other things but it's the filling that's really important sometimes.
I'm not looking 100% low carb, I'm looking programmer healthy (if such a
thing exists).
Any ideas?
