If you think about the work involved in breeding, it's almost
unimaginable that somebody would be in it purely for profit
When you have a pregnant bitch, there's a LOT of work to get her safely
to birth - somebody just out for money would not want to sit up all
night making sure that she's not in any troubles, especially for some of
the more problematic breeds
You'd want some more reliable form of income as well - you never know
the number of puppies in a litter, or their "quality" if you're breeding
only for sale of pedigree animals
That's why it's only a hobby for the specific breed breeders
