I think it depends on a couple factors...

the car you drive (or would like to):
are you a Ferrari-guy or a custom van kind-of-guy?

Improvisation:
Are you ready to take on the bad guys with explosive devices made from
toothpicks and cheesecloth? Can you fashion bullet proofing from
corrugated sheet metal and plywood or 2x4s (and, as the A-Team showed
us, corrugated sheet metal will stop *all* manner of projectile, from
the lowliest .25 to the 88 Magnum ("...it'll shoot through a school"))?
