I spent $50 on a tv capture card that came with time shifting/tivo like
software for windows. After I record a show. I burn it to dvd-rw and watch
it downstairs. I also record kid shows for my daughter. Edit out the
commercials and then burn them to dvd-r.
The first time I did one for my daughter, we put it in the dvd player. She
watched it and then informed me that it was broken, because the show never
said "We'll be right back." 4 year olds can be pretty darn cute.
