Subject: "External Hard Drives"
Hey guys my co-worker just came across this product. basically, it's the
shell of an external hard drive. It has circuitry and a fan inside, NO
DRIVE. You just put your own IDE drive in there, and save money!! A
regular external hard drive costs more per GB.
I was wonderin if any of you guys have used these types of products and if
there are any heat issues. I assume external hard drives were built for
being in an enclosed case, whereas this "shell" just has a fan for cooling.
Anyone ever opened up an external ahrd drive and see what it was made of? :)
