I've not seem anything like this, but I will point out two possible
gotchas I see:
only 64 megs of RAM ~~ 1 hour of music
takes MMC/SD cards, which are more expensive and more fragile than CF
cards, as well as having a smaller size limit

As far as the TDK brand goes, I know very little about them.
