It all depends on the class and who's giving it. I'm about to do a class on
Regular Expressions and people will come away from it knowing the topic or being
dead (yes, I'm that good). Other classes may be less informative. I know for a
fact that CFUN always has at least one class of use even to gurus. Have him
spring for CFUN and a small library and your set. Add in the MM conference for
good measure (pricier, but....) and you can write it off as meet and greet as
well as learning.
Still, a library is always good even if you do have classes.
