I can recommend a few really good restaurants not tourist traps but good
food.

In the French Quarter:
The Bistro at Maison De Ville 727 Rue Toulouse Street, New Orleans
(wonderful food, very small place but one of the best places I've ever eaten
at)

Tony Moran's Restaurant 240 Bourbon Street, New Orleans  (The best pasta
alfredo I've ever had)

For Beignets
Cafe Beignet 1041 Decatur Street, New Orleans    - Not as touristy as
Cafe Du Monde, but you don't wait for a seat and the beignet's and coffee
are not only just as good, they are served on real plates!
