It could very well end like Vietnam, and will most probably lead to a
large scale war fought in the middle east.
The actions in the Prisons, which I'm sure hasn't even scratched the
surface, has only thrown fuel on the fire.
Fuel that it would have been good to avoid.
It has further lowered the United States in the eyes of the world with
regards to this conflict. After being lied to about 'stockpiles' of WMD,
this is a further nail in the coffin of worldwide opinion and foreign
relations which the Bush Administration seems to have built for the
united states.
Internally as well it has made people question President Bush and the
practices of the military (which is a good thing)
One must also remember that all the people in those prisons are not
terrorists.
All of them are also not even guilty of crimes (100 people were released
recently).
Food for thought.

There are so many issues this news brings up, I honestly don't know
where to start.
There is the problem of two (or more) wrongs don't make a right, only
three lefts.
This is the sense that our lack of preparation, which was recently
exposed, has let open a door for this to happen.
Would something like this have happened sooner or later anyways?
Does anybody, even those responsible for the beheading, actually think
this is going to encourage US forces to leave?
Will it actually bring sympathy/understanding/less loathing to the
perpetrators of the horrible acts in the Coalition run prisons?
How long are we going to have to be their?
And is it going to end more like a Japan or a Vietnam?
Ok, I think I rambled around a bit. Like I said I don't even know where
to start. It's going to take some reflection on my part to sort out my
various feelings about this news, sadness, bitterness, resentment......
