I like this style of UI as well: visualized contextual content mapping.  I
do think there have been better implementations (the Plum Visual Thesaurus
is still one of the best: http://www.visualthesaurus.com/index.jsp - and its
technology is available if you want to build your own database).

One of the complaints I have about this one is that the map only works in
one direction.  I went from Suzanne Vega to Neil Young, but couldn't get
back.  Minor points, but there's also no indication of what the size or
color of the objects means (if anything).

But it is a great start - and the matches are pretty damn good.
