And most people don't want to deal with the Windows kernel, either.
Really, the only time I've done much with the *nix underlayer of OS X
was configuring Apache for one of our servers. Mostly, I point and
click. Both of my bosses use OS X, and neither knows as much about *nix
as I do, and that's never become an issue.
My only point was that I've found using OS X on the Mac to be a positive
experience, and that I don't think that Windows is necessarily superior
to it. You obviously don't like it, and that's fine. But that doesn't
mean that it isn't or couldn't be the right solution for a large number
of people.
