I can't apologize for finding the essay offensive but I can say that I would hope that we do not lose a valued member of the community over something like that. If I did say anything offensive in the earlier thread -- I do remember having previously objected to the "catholics worship statues" thing -- then I am willing to apologize for it. It is never my intention to offend anyone or to hurt anyone's feelings.
