Hello Ghansham

Please may you clarify for us:

If there is a latitude and longitude value for every 10th scan and 10th pixel,
which data values do these apply to?
e.g.:
1. if I have a scan value of 11996 and a pixel value of 2996, how do I
reference the relevant values for latitude and longitude?
2. if I have a scan value of 12003 and a pixel value of 3003, how do I
reference the relevant values for latitude and longitude?

thank you
mark

Subject: [CF-CONVENTIONS] Regarding 2D lat/lon coordinate variables at an
interval in CF

R/All

Do we have some conventions for storing 2D lat/lon coordinates at an interval.
Say our data variable "band1" has dimensions (scans =24000, pixels= 6000) and
2D lat/lon arrays at every 10th scan and 10th pixel, thus making dimensions of
lat/lon arrays (scans=2400, pixels=600).
Modis generally provides lat/lon information for ocean color products like
this. Do we have something similar? This may be useful for radiometric swath
products specially.
