Hello,
I am an experienced Web Developer (specializing in Cold Fusion, SQL and Networking),
who's considering moonlighting in the evenings and/or weekends. I have a few concerns
that some of you may have dealt with either as a part-time moonlighter or full time
independent contractor:
1) Do you typically have the client provide you with a percentage of the overall
project fee, or hourly rate up front and in writing? If so, can you elaborate?
2) Regarding "moonlighting", have either of you had any conflicts with your full-time
gig, and the freelance gigs taken on the side?
3) In addition to a non-compete contract, and confidentiality agreement, which you may
sign-off on for the client, do either of you protect yourselves by having your
"moonlighting-client" sign an agreement stating that they will under no circumstances
contact your full-time employer, OR hold your full-time employer liable for anything?
Thanks in advance!
Charles
