JOB OPENING SYSTEMS MANAGER
Responsibilities:
High-level system design, including significant contact with the Client
to resolve open issues
Detailed design in Developer 2000 in support of programming activities
Conduct code walk thrus and perform Quality Assurance checks on
programs and systems
Support department standards for database design, forms design and
Programming
Monitor program completion against schedule and budget
Participate in departmental projects designed to improve the quality of
processes, methodology and programming
Lead and/or coordinate multiple teams of programmers and analysts in
maintenance and new development activities (track and assign work for a
group)
Responsible for employee feedback and performance evaluations (mentor
new employees)
Participate in interviewing of new programming staff and make
recommendation for hiring decision
Serve as primary point of contact for Sales Team for all maintenance
projects and for new systems requiring less than 200 hours of
development effort
Qualifications:
Technical Skill:
Exceptional analytical skills
Programming experience -- able to effectively monitor and support direct
reports in system development activities
4+ years Developer 2000 experience, including Forms and Reports,
preferably in Developer 4.5 or 5 and Oracle 7 or 8
Knowledgeable in SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle utilities such as SQL loader
DOS/Windows/Oracle/UNIX
Excellent communication skills
2+ years of supervisory experience in a programming team leader or more
senior position
Experience in Developer 2000 Graphics a plus
Development of projects using other client/server technologies
Experience developing Internet applications using HTML, and/or Server
Side Java Script
Experience with miscellaneous query tools
Experience with written stored procedures and triggers
Understand cursors
Should have written technical specifications and performance tuning
experience
