Required Experience:
- This position requires in-depth development knowledge, business acumen,
communication skills, decision-making ability, analytical problem solving,
self-motivation, business/industry knowledge, and client focus.
- Typically requires 5 years programming/systems analysis in HTML and
Macromedia ColdFusion. Must have proven experience creating Web based
business solutions based on customer requirements. Proven ability to create
prototypes, technical specifications, coding to designed solutions, and
completing systems test to guarantee quality deliverables. Skilled at
understanding customer concerns, problem solving, and bringing open issues
to closure. Must be flexible with ability to Multi-task, and juggle
competing priorities.
Required Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education in a
related discipline is required. Related work experience can be substituted
for education requirement. Strong knowledge / experience in programming
(i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc.), and
communication networks.
Required Licenses:
Macromedia Certified ColdFusion Developer
Experience/Skills:
Programming / systems analysis in Visual Basic (highly desired) and
PowerBuilder. Experience with Fusebox methodology. Background in Oracle and
Sybase. PL/SQL development highly desired. Health care industry knowledge.
Job Duties:
Under general direction:
- Designs, codes, installs, and maintains software programs - ensuring
these applications interact with existing applications.
- Assists in the identification, evaluation, tailoring and implementation
of vendor supplied software packages.
- Evaluates the performance of installed software by utilizing available
aids to monitor trends, load and growth patterns.
- Prepares documentation for use by computer operations, applications
programming , and user personnel.
- Provides technical assistance and information to other systems software,
computer operations, application programming and internal/external customers.
- Assists the training of developers and users in the use of systems
software and related technology.
- Reviews new designs, enhancements and programs with technical staff to
improve operational efficiencies.
- Assists in design, coding and installation of database management systems.
- Creates and analyzes requirements and specifications for applications
enhancements for compatibility with other systems and within operating
guidelines.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Develops and maintains test plans, documents test results and makes
recommendations for improvements.
- Provides advise or analysis that may influence project approaches.
- Functions as programming language administrator to troubleshoot and
recommend improvements to existing software.
- Interacts with customers to assist sales staff, gather requirements,
troubleshoot, test, launch and maintain applications.
- Integrates ColdFusion web technology into all aspects of business operations.
- Suggests ideas for future enhancements and added Web Services.
