Mr. Marcus to demand that only American coders can post to CF-Jobs, and
forgive him for suggesting that all Indian People are incompetent seems
silly.
Is this list restricted to Americans only (competent or not)? Is it
restricted to competent coders only? Who gets to decide? Can we decide by
the quality of the postings? In this case, Mr. Marcus should be restricted
from the site, based upon the large number of spelling and grammatical
mistakes he makes in his postings. Further, can he claim competence when he
was employable in his profession only during that unique period of economic
boom immediately following the birth of the Web?
I apologize if I sound a bit cruel. But the difference between my remarks
and Marcuss is that I direct it at one person whom has revealed his true
nature, while he directs it at a whole nation of people who he does not
know.
If this list is open to everyone, then I propose we let everyone post, and
let the buyer beware. Let's move on.

I am hesitant to weigh in on this heated debate, you know, rise above the
fray and all that, but I will mention a story a friend told me:
He told me the story of an acquaintance who got together a group of friends
who were undergrad students in Bangalore. They created a website of a fake
company, created fake resumes of the "Board of directors" listing PhDs and
other nonexistant credentials, created a fake portfolio of sites from their
various class projects, and started bidding on contracts using undergrad
students to cobble together applications. The marketing idea was, hey
you're getting a PhD to do the work for $30 per hour, when in fact the
customer was getting a group of kids in a dorm to do the work for $30 per
hour- and how would they know 12 time zones away? It's probably an an
urban legend, but I think it speaks to the fear of a "pig in a poke."

I would agree that racism is silly but I had to fix more problems from
oversea than you may have. The work was poor and the attention to
detail was lacking. But don't get me wrong. You can find this anywhere
you go. Frankly, when I here about someone sending work off shores then
I laid my bet that they will bring it back and someone has to fix it; 9
times out of 10 I'm right. This isn't just my opinion or even an
American opinion I've heard this from all over the world.
It is a buyers market and that's just the way it is. To answer Shamshad
Quamar; the unemployment line. I was on it for 2.5 years. I'm working
again but not in the web industry as much as I was. I've had to return
to Helpdesk Support due to lack of work.

To accuse me of racism is pretty silly. I have had more experience with
programmers from the third world countries than you have and
my experience mirrors the experience of many others. I guess you haven't
been a programmer very long.

I think your reply was a bit rude. I think the list is for CF jobs, not
racist remarks.
I don't know where you learnt your manners but it seems to me you don't
have
much sense. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the people on this list
agree with me on this.
And sort out your carriage returns.
