Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of making
presentations to an internal audience and interacting positively with
upper management and teammates.
Ability to work as part of a development team to accomplish desired
outcomes. Ability to work in an environment where priorities can change
frequently. Ability to take requirements and deliver a complete
application solution with documentation.
Is comfortable with most aspects of web development, such as writing
queries and creating web-based interfaces to the database.

Required background

4-year computer science degree or equivalent work experience
1+ years developing dynamic web-based software
1+ relational database technologies

Experience with the following required

Web application programming languages for accessing databases
(ColdFusion experience preferred or if not, the ability to quickly learn
and use ColdFusion is required, as ColdFusion is our application
development platform).

Experience with the following a plus

Web Design and Development (HTML, CSS, XML, RSS, JavaScript).
Relational database (SQL Server preferred, also MySQL)
Perl
Subversion (code version control)

ASEE is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1891. We
use computer technology extensively to enable communication in all
aspects of engineering education. We host our own web sites and
databases on several in-house servers. We intend to continue to increase
our use of the internet and the web and keep current with technology. We
administer several fellowship programs for government agencies such as
the NSF, Air Force, Navy and NASA. The working environment is casual.
The location is very convenient to the Dupont Circle metro station.
