Web Developer
Society for Neuroscience, a scientific non-profit representing 34,000 members, seeks a Web Developer to build dynamic Web sites and design, develop, and maintain databases and Web-based applications by performing the duties listed below. Responsibilities: Builds dynamic templates and custom Web applications integrating content, display formatting, and business logic using Web authoring tools, programming tools, and SQL to integrate data from databases. * Works closely with the Web Development Manager. * Gathers requirements and feedback from SfN departments for specific Web development projects. * Designs and develops databases using ER diagrams and other data modeling techniques. * Creates user interfaces for Web applications and works with staff to optimize usability. * Creates dynamic Web pages using ColdFusion, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and other programming languages. * Works with Web development team to conduct browser testing and quality assurance for Web applications projects. * Creates documentation for custom Web applications. * Configures and administers ColdFusion server. * Maintains and upgrades existing Web applications. * Meets with Web development personnel on the specifics of projects, new technologies, and project deadlines. * Remains up to date on latest programming and browser technology. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
