Please apply online with your cover letter and resume at www.hr.ubc.ca/files/postings/management.html#job8 (preferred) or send your cover letter and resume to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Job responsibilities: - acts as team leader, provides mentorship and manages complex, long-term projects - anticipates and resolves problems, assesses and debugs projects - works closely with the Director and senior staff to to coordinate the overall design and information flow, ensuring that the website interfaces with internal databases and external providers as necessary - researches, analyzes and documents business processes to ensure quality of service, providing reports and recommendations as needed - uses ColdFusion MX and SQL to create dynamically-generated web pages - assists with daily maintenance of www.students.ubc.ca and www.ubc.ca/okanagan/students websites - analyzes, designs and implements the site with regard to accessibility for differently-abled individuals - facilitates design and content sessions for content providers, designers and systems staff in the VPS portfolio and with student users to improve ways of providing online information and transactions Required skills: - university degree plus a minimum of five yearsâ related experience in Internet communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience - experience in managing a large, production-oriented, high traffic web presence, preferably within a large, complex organization - extensive knowledge of dynamic page generation with ColdFusion MX, including components, custom tags, and configuring ColdFusion Administrator - extensive experience in website design (XHTML, graphics and scripting) - knowledge of browser standards, common plug-ins/helper applications and related design issues - knowledge of database-driven application development and SQL - knowledge of web server products, such as IIS or Apache, standards and services - multimedia experience, such as Flash programming and understanding of technical considerations regarding various multimedia formats (QuickTime, Real, Windows Media) - effective oral and written communication and interpersonal, presentation skills - demonstrated leadership and motivational skills; demonstrated ability to function as a member of a team and work with a wide variety of people - organizational and project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines; experience with staff management and team leadership Compensation: Competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
