Wow, what I response to an honest post. I apologize to those that were offended. My intent was to let the hiring manager beware that someone who says they have 20+ experience should throw a flag especially on a posting about an entry level job. And a flag only to inspect more closely. Specifically one that the hirer posted with stated technologies by the replier which were all well developed technologies in the last decade and nothing including mainframes, tubes, Pascal, cobal, management, punch cards, etc. And everyone is right IT covers so many things, but in context, about CF and modern web based applications, we are talking about Internet based IT. Internet referring to the modern day networking that we have. Shot, I worked with electronic radios and radars with tubed based designed while in the Navy, can I add those 5 years to my number of years in IT. Honestly I wouldn't feel right doing so. And anyone that has 20+ years in IT, man take this as a compliment as there really aren't as many people with that as try to claim to be. I hope ya'll made bank on it, I would have been glad to be in your shoes then.
So peeps, my apologies for being honest and upsetting people and posting what I would have "red" flagged. It wasn't intended to flame just mentioning a cautious note in hiring practices as peeps do tend to "exaggerate". Not like any of us have ever done so though. :P And if you feel I need a flogging still, please meet me out at the bar sometime and ya'll can take turns.
