Hi Craig, Welcome to the list!
I haven't had much experience with the Oracle driver used with ColdFusion,
but I know the Merant Driver for MS SQL 7 that ships with CF pro 4.5 has had
a few oddities. Nothing real major... for instance it threw error when
trying to read ms SQL's nvarchar type... no biggie, but you might ask around
and see if there are similar annoyances on the Oracle driver.
One thing I like about running CF on Linux is that I can run applications in
PERL or PHP side by side with CF.
