It'll work! It doesn't matter what OS mySQL is running on really.

Subject: Solaris, CF and MySQL
We're working on a web re-design for a client whose current site is sitting
on a Solaris box (SunOS 5.6) We're planning on integrating some dynamic
content (using CF of course) and need to implement a database... My first
thought was MySQL - I know slashdot uses it and we're not going to be doing
anything beyond what they are doing so I thought it should work fine.
I'm wondering if I could setup a Linux box running MySQL and have the
Solaris box 'talk' to it - and would CF be happy in this environment or
would I be asking for trouble? :)
thanks!
jim
