VNC will actually work... it has a startup script that will start up
xwindows, its in the file ~/.vnc/xstartup you just need to add a command to
start KDE or gnome eg.

/usr/bin/gnome-session &

I think you use kdestart for kde, but I'm not sure.

You should also comment out everything they have in the file.
