John,

Run a simple <cfquery> tag against the data source (doesn't matter what the
SQL is) and check the error messaged returned when you run the template.

The verify function in the admin doesn't return any error info, so you are
shooting in the dark until you find out why the connection to MySQL is
failing. The query error message should get you pointed in the right
direction.

Did a CHMOD 777 on it, made no difference, still does not verify.
Database is in default location /usr/local/mysql/data/. Should I try
throwing it in /opt/coldfusion/database?
Tried with and without login + password, no verify.
Anybody got a small simple datafile in MYSQL that you know verifies that I
could grab to see if my main issue is my datafile?

Thanks!
