Well, that's a relief. I had visions of the virtual memory filling up 
and the system switching to hd swap memory and it filling up and then 
boom! In effect, what you're saying is that Linux has a built in 
RAM-disc and uses it (presumably with a RAM index) to avoid unnecessary 
hard drive calls. I'm guessing it still has to check the disc index each 
time to see if there is a match between the RAM disc and the actual 
sector, yes?
