The only way I can think of off the top of my head (I've never had to do it)
is to rpm -d --force --nodeps the entire library system and then immediatly
follow that up with a rpm -i of the rpms you just nuked. 

Course, there's prolly a better way of doing it.

If you're worried about SSH going kaboom, turn on telnet for the 5 minutes
it'll take to verify system integrity, yeah, it's a security hole, but it is
a temporary one.
