Actually, we require the redhat-version of libstdc/compat-libstdc, this is
why we only support SuSE and cobalt and redhat, they're all running the same
versioning of libsdtc

You installed an .rpm on a Debian system?  I'm pretty sure there's an
existing .deb for that.  You may wish to give that a try.
