A little update for the huge numbers that frequent this list:-) FTp and
sites are down at the moment so things got worse. With some fellow raq
owners and the help of icq did not get a chance to use MD5SUM to check the
CF.tar.gz file at both ends for integrity. Got following tip to pass on
also, "Try www.cygwin.com and install the software from there as it includes
md5sum.

You can also use scp to transfer files around, or even rsync, all included
in cygwin.
You also get a loverly bash prompt to your windows machine, you can even run
XFree86 on windows!
One of the more useful bits of software for windows out there." Ed Marsden

Have also been advised that bad memory stick will knacker your hard disc as
well, so have put in for replacement machine.

Regards

Colm

As well as tortoise, check out http://hshelp.com/rcsintegration.html I got
this from contribution by Justin on this thread cf below and earlier
interest in
command line source control, CS-RCS is multi platform and can be used from
the command line as well. But for
win2k/xp development especially I recommend this, also free for personal
use, note
setup info points to wrong help file but everything is easy to set up and
CS-RCS is now a custom toolbar popup in my ver of Studio 5 and comes with a
comprehensive user guide and tutorials all accessible from Studio toolbar,
very nice. Note toolbars folder is in studio under userdata.

BTW reloading CF 5 onto a new hd on cobalt box all goes well until I get the
error
Copying files........
gunzip: jre.tar.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error
even though new ver of tar installed and install no problem on previous hd
and current hd not flaky. Any clue as to why this be so??

thanks

Colm

Without going into if I like GUIs or not, I believe you can use scripts
from within cfstudio / homesite? /studiomx? with CVS

Look here, http://www.wilk4.com/asp4hs/srccontrol.htm.
