Thanks for the quick (and decisive) answer.  In the last couple of days the
/opt partition grew by 2%, then dropped back 2%.  Is there a way to manage
these files, or do they manage themselves?

Don't delete them!

They are the indexes of data for the collection.
Deleting these files is essentially deleting the
collection.

I can't remember specifically what the file extensions
are but I think that .ddd is data and .did are
indexes.
