Marc, What happens when you test the connection in the CF Administrator? Have you checked to make sure the proper host is listed there? You might also try a straight IP address instead (if the CF service is having trouble finding the host).

I've been asked to help out someone with a ColdFusion server who's having trouble with mail that's not being delivered. I've tracked down what I believe is the cause of the problem, it appears that CF is throwing a Java exception as per below: "Error","scheduler-2","06/28/03","12:12:29",,"Unknown SMTP host: mail.eternalmedia.com; nested exception is: java.net.UnknownHostException: mail.XXXXXXXXX.com" The machine has working DNS, local email works fine, even the mail server connectivity in the CF admin page works fine. Any clues how to fix this? Apparently this was working and stopped. -marc -------------------------------------------------- Marc Nicholas Geekythings Inc.
