I would make sure that you encoded the app with the cfencode utility that is from the 
same version of cf that the app is running on.  In my experience I've seen problems 
like this resolved by doing so.

I am having a silly problem.  CF 5 on Linux RH 7.1.  My application is encrypted, 
using the /v "1" argument.  I can get to the CF administrator no problem, but when I 
try and run my app, alls I get back is the encrypted application.cfm code and it stops 
there.  I have CF Debugging turned on so I know that this is not a Web server issue.

What little thing have I overlooked.
