RHEL using Apache 2 also has the connector problem - I had seen someone
asking about that earlier. When I was installing on RHEL the first time,
I found this technote that got me around the problem.

It would be nice not to be restricted to CF servers, but I am not a
programmer - I am coming from a graphic design perspective. CF allows
someone like me to get to a higher level of sophistication and
customization in a site than if I was using the other scripting models.
(I have to use ASP sometimes and it drives me crazy.) If I was to forced
to give up CF, though, I think it would be PHP.
Good luck,
Tom
