Thanks for your reply. To answer your question, yes, I can ping my server. I don't
have DNS turned on yet so as of right now I can get to my box via IP only . I can ping
my IP from a windows cmd prompt and get packet responses if thats what your
asking...(as well as SSH into the box to do admin work).
What part of the coldfusion error message indicates that the hostname of the server is
not being resolved? Is coldfusion unable resolve my webservice call from a remote
location because I do not have my DNS server setup?
This snippet of error message shows the UnknownHostException....is this what you are
talking about?
coldfusion.xml.rpc.ServiceProxy$ServiceInvocationException: Could not
perform web service invocation "sayHello" because AxisFault
faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException
faultSubcode:
faultString: java.net.UnknownHostException: linux.local
My intention is to get my server going good before I "flip the switch" with DNS and
make it live.
