I haven't heard of any rash of problems reported to support regarding the upgrade of MX 6.1 to 7 on *nix. In fact, I haven't heard of any other than this.
The upgrade should have written an install log in the CFMX 7 root, and when you run the migration wizard there will be a migration.log and possibly a migrationexception.log in the logs/ directory. They should help tell the story. On the other hand, you can run the upgrade install with the debug option enabled (LAX_DEBUG=true;export LAX_DEBUG;./coldfusion7-installer-yaddayadda.bin) to get very detailed information during the upgrade which is output to the console. Just save all the content of the console to a text file for a possible post-mortem. Before the upgrade you can protect yourself entirely by just copying the $cfmx61_root directory somewhere. You can always put the copy back its original place to get CFMX 6.1 again. If you run into trouble, publish the console debug info, the install log, and the migration logs somewhere (after removing your SN) and send a link to this list and cc me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] so we can all have a look. -Steven Erat On 6/21/05, Edward Chanter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I was kind of expecting someone to say that, I was just hoping there > might've been an easier way to do it ;-) > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Mark A Kruger [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2005 1:24 PM > > To: CF-Linux > > Subject: RE: MX 7 > > > > As a rule, I always bite the bullet and uninstall/reinstall > > any brand new version.
