I'd like another solution, appending :8080 to absolute links solved the 
problem. Only problem now is  a permissions issue with apache refusing to 
accept files uploaded locally into the virtual site I linked in as the 
BlueDragon webroot.
It's not a solution to remove the link file and I cannot chmod -R 2755 on the 
linked file as this doesn't appear to work...
