FWIW, to get it running on a 64-bit Linux distro, you have to deploy on top of JBoss (for now). I built an app at my last gig on 64-bit RHES on both dual Itanium (development) and dual Opteron (production) systems. It's been in production for over a year and a half with no problems.
I've also got CFMX 6.1 on CentOS (32-bit). I'm sure you could deploy on their 64-bit distro with JBoss just as easily. -- Adrian Pete Jordan wrote: > Daniel Shaw wrote: > >> Or, anyone have a suggestion for a *free* up-to-date distro that we should >> consider? > > I've had no problems with installing it onto Ubuntu; it's running as I > type on a Breezy Badger server install on our twin Opteron box. 32-bit, > only though - I did make an attempt to get it running on 64-bit, but > life's too short and, even if I had got it running, I'm not at all sure > I would have wanted anything that potentially flaky on a live server box. > > We're running it with Apache 1.3.34 built locally (we can't currently > use Apache 2 for reasons unrelated to ColdFusion).
